I was shocked to hear of Raymond's passing. He was such a good, interesting and interested friend. We traveled together to Europe and had many good times in New York City. I will never forget him.

Raymond was my cousin. He was the most loving, kind, witty and generous people we knew. This is a huge loss to our family and we will miss him always. Rest In Peace, Raymond and give your parents a big hug and kiss for me! Love you.

Raymond Vinciguerra was a kind, loyal and giving person who would always go the extra mile, even when it was not expected of him. He believed in always expanding his circle of friends & family so if you were a friend, significant other or co-worker of someone he was close to, you became part of his inner circle, too. He was a devoted Uncle to his niece and nephew and really cherished his relationship with them.

Many years ago, Ray became part of my circle of friends through a group of young single people through Diana Lee, a high school friend of his from Garden City.

He, like me, loved the arts and entertaining and soon we were enthusiastic participant at social gatherings. My first Christmas in the city, I hosted a Tree trimming party and typical of Ray, he not only brought delicious desserts to share, he also brought an ornament - a giant flexible flyer sled - that has hung on my Christmas Tree since 1983. Every year, when I take out that ornament I remember Ray, a lovely guy, with round horn rimmed glasses, a dry sense of humor and wonderful, creative person. I tell my kids about the grape and strawberry wreath appetizers he made for his first Christmas party in his new apartment, and about sitting on the washing machines in the laundry room of his Battery Park apartment building to watch the fireworks for the Bicentennial of the Statue of Liberty, where we had moved the party when we realized that was the best view in the building.

As I was decorating my tree this year and I unpacked my sled ornament, I decided to look Ray up on Facebook to see if I could reconnect and thought I would send him this picture and wish him well. He wasn’t listed so I googled him and this came up.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing, I always assumed that when Jim and I were empty nesters, we would have the opportunity to reconnect with people that we enjoyed so much in our younger years. So sorry, this will not be the case with Ray.

I wish him peace and wanted his family to know he is remembered, even by those who haven’t been in his orbit for many years.

I first met Ray when I moved into the tri state area in 1989. Ray was a wonderful friend that introduced me to the city like no other "tour guide" could! We went to many shows, toured all the museums and had many a great dinner together. Ray and I became very good friends. We remained very close until my job relocated me to Pennsylvania. We continued to talk mostly on emails until I did not receive a email from him on my birthday in July. It was not like him not to write a birthday message. I knew something was wrong and of course found out today! Ray will be deeply missed! "Rest in peace my friend and Thumbs up!"

While on a business trip to NYC (I'm from Chicago), Ray and I met by chance, sitting at a counter in a café. That conversation evolved into a friendship over many years. I was the guy who encouraged him to join the Big Apple barbershop chorus, and I believe he served as president of the chorus for several years -- even during the chorus' trip to St. Petersburg, Russia. Great sense of humor, always seemed to be volunteering somewhere or planning an architecture trip. I hadn't heard he was ill. If his brother -- Bill, I think -- or good friend (I forgot her name) whom I met at least once sees this, I'm hoping you can give me his cause of death.

What a loss. The world needs people like Raymond! It was always such a pleasure to join him for lectures and dinner, an exceptionally fine human being.

Just last week you congratulated me on my promotion again, wished me all the best and gave me a few encouraging words. Knowing that you won’t be here to share your wisdoms and smile breaks my heart. TRS has lost a gentle
Soul! Sleep in Peace my friend.

Raymond drew people to him. He was honest, funny, intellegent, interested in others, an old soul who wasn't afraid of a new challenge or adventure. His friends and his family were his world. You left us way too early, Ray.

Fantastic friend Loved castles and foreign lands Loved to travel. Wisteria was his favorite. Adirondack chairs would make him smile. The martini that never happened in Paris. Loved to plan day trips and would always volunteer to drive.
Chap stick stocks did a nose dive.
And his annual Christmas soirée with the wonder of how many people could fit in his apartment.
These a just a few remembered moments we shared but there are many many more. There is not enough space to go on.
You are forever in my heart.
Rest In Peace my dear friend and keep an watchful eye out for us all
    Rest In Peace Ray.

My dearest friend since kindergarten has passed away. I will never be the same person without him for the remainder of my life. He lovingly gifted me his kindness, laughter, loyalty, and joyful spirit, during our once in a lifetime friendship. I will always cherish our times together.
