A tremendously accomplished and scholarly man and loving, astute priest who inspired so many. I will remember his kindness and his encouragement. He has left a body of work in canon law that shall inform and educate those to follow. Many prayers for his family and friends and for the peaceful repose of his soul.

So sad to hear of Monsignor Alesandro's passing. I remember him from my years at St. Joseph school and parish in Garden City. He was an accomplished piano player and he would play at different functions we had at St. Joseph's. I am now at St. Thomas the Apostle parish and he always gave a thoughtful and insightful homily at Mass. He will be missed by many. God rest his soul and my condolences to his family.

Jack Alesandro is universally respected and admired by everyone who had the good fortune to know him as a Canonist, Teacher, or any of the many other ways he served the People of God during his fifty-four years as a good and faithful priest. In paradisum deducant eum angeli.

Our church has lost a fine priest, a great mind, and a valued resource in the field of canon law. Monsignor “Jack” Alesandro, an active member of the Canon Law Society of America for many years, contributed much in the way of scholarly research and application of the law. His kind and gentle demeanor was always a welcomed addition to any conversation or meeting. Moreover, he was always most gracious and helpful to many canonists throughout the years who sought his scholarly wisdom and canonical acumen. On a personal note, I clearly remember his kind, gentle, and generous gift of time and talent that he offered to me as I was completing my dissertation. I am forever grateful. May he rest in peace.

I had Msgr. Alesandro for several courses when I studied canon law at CUA. He was a great teacher, a great canon lawyer, and a great priest. He will be missed but he is now enjoying his eternal reward with Our Lord.

Jack was a friend to everyone he met, a great canonist, and extremely bright scholar and teacher. We are indebted to him for his service to the CLSA. I appreciated his unequivocal support during my presidency especially for the initiatives to strengthen committees. My heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to all loved ones and friends.

Msgr. Alesandro was a very generous and insightful canonist. When I was asked to teach a course in canon law to people studying for a civil law degree at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, Jack gave me his course syllabus and his notes! They were very helpful. Know of my condolences. I prayed a rosary for him .

To the Family of Msgr Alessandro,
Sending you sincere condolences on the loss of your brother and your uncle. He was very proud of his family and spoke so well of all of you. He was a true giant in the field of Canon Law and his genius and talent as well as his forever smile will be remembered fondly. He was kind and gracious and I learned much from working with him through the years in the CLSA. He was always willing to help any canonist and any diocese that asked. God bless you all with joyous memories.
