Joe was such a charismatic guy! He brought joy and silliness into the lives of others. He was a gentleman.

I knew Joe from Garden City South. Later in life I brought my baby daughter to his office in Garden City. He was such a kind, compassionate doctor. You are missed, Joe

We knew Joe as a friend and family member through marriage for many years, and enjoyed his company-- and sense of humor, especially. His MS diagnosis was tragic, but he still seemed to maintain himself well over ensuing years. Rest in peace, Joe.

Cip, known you since we were 7 yrs old. We shared many a childhood adventure with Weber, Jake , and a host of others along the way. If every kid today could have had our coming of age experiences the world would be a far better place. Though there may be a few less adults around now. Knew you always had my back as you said many times over the years, a true friend , a funny guy from your friend Bill Yosca of 63 years

From the first day Frank met Joe at the cafe and made him a worthy expresso they fast became Florida brothers. The threesome Joe, Frank and Vinny always ready for a fast trip to the casino! Joe loved to lend a helping hand and give astute medical advice, his charismatic personality endearing him to all he met ~ many still asking how’s Dr. Joe. It is with great sadness that we tell of his passing. Please know that he brought special joy and that some of darkness he experienced was not of his making but of the cruelty of his illness.
While we cannot be with you today we are grateful and honored to have known him, to have beautiful memories of our families together in happier times, to have him forever in our hearts. Take comfort in the love that he had for you all and trust that after the heartbreaking sadness you will cherish the beautiful life that you shared.
Hopefully, we will meet again and share a good meal and vino celebrating our beloved Dr. Joe!
Our love to all of you,
    Frank and Tina & Family

Joe always had a smile on his face. I met Joe in the old GCS neighborhood through my best friend Kevin Yosca. Kevin's older brother Billy and Joe were best friends. So Joe, and so many older guys were the big brothers that I didn't have. I will always remember Joe with fondness! I am one of the old neighborhood kids that owes my lifelong nickname to Joe, "Tiny Tom" . RIP and I will see you on the other side Joe!

Whether you knew him as Dr Cipriani, Dr Joe or just Joe, he definitely left a lasting impression upon everyone’s life he touched. We have known Joe and his family since the 1980’s. Each and everyone of them has been a Blessing to our family in so many ways. From the time we met, wonderful memories have been made. And then there is Joe. Even though he was dealt a tough hand, he always joked making light of things. He would look at you with the expression of disbelief on his face especially when you mentioned something so simple that it must be true. As a pediatrician, there was none better. When our triplets were born, he wouldn’t let us bring them to the office. So routinely he would make a house call, bringing with him all that he needed, including a scale to weigh them. He will always be remembered for the Halloween trick or treating, the trips to Pennsylvania, the BBQs, the garage sales (that would be when he would do his best joking, like trying to sell an open roll of toilet paper for $2 saying that it hasn’t been used much), but most of all, the love, kindness, and friendship that he gave us. These thoughts are only scratching the surface of what Joe meant to us!
With our deepest sympathy to the entire family.
We will deeply miss you, Joe
    Love ,

Our family grew up in Garden City South. The Ciprianis moved to our neighborhood, one block away, roughly sixty years ago. Joe became a close friend of the Yosca brothers, especially Bill, who was Joe's contemporary. The two have remained good friends ever since.
Every kid had a nickname. One of Joe's many aliases was the Joker, largely because he created most of the other kids' nicknames. Until the invention of caller ID, he was a master of prank phone calls.
We will miss his love of a good laugh, his appreciation of good Italian wine and food and his loyalty to his friends.
    Rest in peace brother.

We remember how happy he was at our neighbors’ (Marissa & Bryan Jakovics) wedding - a truly joyous father of the bride! May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort.

Pat, Marissa, Lynne Ann, and Joe,
Marty and I are so saddened and shocked by this news. Joe was so wonderful to us as new parents, 25 years ago. And what turned into a wonderful relationship all these years later. May he rest in peace. Such a kind man🙏

My condolences to the Cipriani family. While I didn't personally know Dr. Cipriani, it sounds like he left quite an amazing legacy. –Sean Rhodes (Kelsey Shamblin's uncle) and Brett Klein
