Leon Joseph Zeibaq passed peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023.
Leon was born in Ramallah, Palestine in 1942 to Yousef and Zarifeh Zeibaq and was
one of six children. He immigrated to American in 1967 where he started his new life
with his bride.
Leon held many titles in his life, from jeweler to entrepreneur. But if you asked him what
his greatest achievement was, he’d say being husband and father. Leon adored his wife
and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and raising their five children together. He instilled in his
children to express compassion and empathy and to love with an open heart. He taught
them that hard work and determination were the keys to success in all areas of life.
A sports enthusiast, Leon loved the Chicago Bulls, football and soccer. Leon was a
fierce poker player and loved to paint alongside his TV buddy, Bob Ross. He was
known for his funny jokes, stories of the old country and his delicious falafel!
Leon is fondly remembered for his generous heart, kind spirit and wisdom. He will be
greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Suad, his five children: Reema (Phil), Renda
(Craig), JoAnne (Glenn), Janan (John) and Yousef (Mary), his eleven grandchildren:
Ryan, Alia, Michael, Maya, Anya, Conrad, Andrew, Ava, Elena, Emma, & Layla, his
siblings: Lillian, Layla, Nick & Sam and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
