In Memory Of
Marie C. Jaworski, 71, originally from Garden City, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020 in Wrentham, MA, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born to the late Michael and Dorothy DiGirolamo on August 30, 1949.
Marie attended St. Joseph’s school in Garden City (Class of 1963), where she made friendships that spanned decades. She attended high school at St. Mary’s in Manhasset (Class of 1967), went on to study education at the College of Mount St. Vincent (Class of 1971) and later received her Master’s Degree in Education from Hofstra University. Marie taught first grade at Setauket Elementary School and pre-school at Garden City Nursery School, where she worked for over 25 years. A lifelong educator, she was loved by her students, their parents and her fellow teachers.
Marie married her soulmate and best friend, Victor, on December 7, 1974. They shared a love, admiration, and devotion to each other that most people can only aspire to. She was the loving and devoted mother to three sons: Scott and his wife Leyla; Mark and his wife Jenn; and, Nicholas and his wife Lauren. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren: Olivia, Madelyn, Jake and Dylan. She is also survived by sisters Rose Ollendike and Michele Byrne, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
Nothing made Marie happier than being with her family. We are grateful for so many memories in the kitchen and gathered around the dining room table, surrounded by her love, laughter, and amazing food. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Funeral mass to be held at St. Joseph’s Church, @10AM on Tuesday Dec 1st (Zoom link for video stream upcoming). Burial will be private for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marie’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
