COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR VISITATION

Upon entering the building:

1. Under Governor Andrew Cuomo's guidance, all visitors must keep a mask or face covering on at all times and practice social distancing during the entire duration of their visitation. 

2. All persons attending will have their temperature taken upon entering the building. People attending will be asked to provide contact information (Full name and telephone number or email) for contact tracing should it become necessary. No contact information will be used for solicitation, this is solely for the Department of Health. 

3. Each Chapel has it's own maximum capacity, Fairchild Sons will police this policy and we thank you for your cooperation in following their directions. In the event that the chapel becomes at maximum capacity, we will request for you to wait outside of the building until someone else leaves the visitation. At that time we will make you aware that you are able to enter the building to pay your respects.

Obituary

RENKEN, VERONICA B. (RONNIE), Age 88, of Garden City, passed away peacefully at her home on March 31.  Beloved wife of the late Martin H. Renken (Harry).  One of Long Island’s most dedicated and respected non-profit volunteers, Ronnie was honored by Garden City as its Citizen of the Year in 1994, and received numerous awards over the years for her tireless work on behalf of those in need.  Longtime Chairman of the Board of Variety Child Learning Center (formerly Pre-Schooler’s Workshop) in Syosset.  Board Member or former Board Member of United Way of Long Island, Our Lady of Mercy Academy (from which she graduated) and Winthrop University Hospital, which honored her on several occasions for her dedicated volunteer service.  In her “spare time”, Ronnie was a prolific and extraordinarily talented needlepointer, and a perennial owner and lover of Labrador Retrievers.  Visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 5th, at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1201 Franklin Avenue, Garden City; Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 130 5th Street, Garden City, followed by interment beside her beloved husband, Harry, at Holy Rood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ronnie’s memory to Our Lady of Mercy Academy, 815 Convent Road, Syosset, New York 11791 or Variety Child Learning Center, 47 Humphrey Drive, Syosset, New York 11791.
