In Memory Of
Peter Tedesco was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 12, 1919 and died peacefully of natural causes at the age of 100. He was married on April 23, 1944 to his beloved and beautiful wife, Marie and they just celebrated their 76th Wedding Anniversary. Peter was blessed with 2 children, Marie and Philip. They provided him with 3 wonderful grandchildren, Joseph, Craig and Valerie, and 4 adoring great-grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, Gabrielle and Luke.
After his retirement, Peter moved from Jamaica, NY to East Meadow and then finally to Glen Cove. For the last 10 years of his life he had resided at The Regency Assisted Living Facility in Glen Cove.
Peter served in the United States Navy in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. While living in East Meadow he was an active member of the VFW Post 2736 and served as Post Commander during 1995 and 1996.
Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed extensive travel throughout the world. Peter enjoyed visiting Europe, Asia, and Australia. He also enjoyed traveling within the United States and cruises within the Caribbean.
Peter loved life, and above everything, he loved his family. He enjoyed spending time together during holidays and at all family gatherings. His family loved him and our Dad, Pop and Pop-Pop will be sorely missed.
May he rest in peace and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
During these uncertain times we are unable to honor him properly. The burial services will be private on Wednesday May 6th, 2020 at Holy Rood.
A memorial celebrating his long and blessed life will take place later this year.
