Frances Marie Carroll Somers, cherished Mother of Frances Pat and beloved Mother- in- law of Brian McKeever, residents of Garden City since 1982, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in New York City on April 4, 1925, Frances recently celebrated her 96th birthday with her Texas Family. She lived most of her life in New York and was brought home on June 9, 2021 and her long, well lived life will be celebrated in Garden City. Her deep faith, loving family, and dear friends meant everything to her. She was married to John Somers for fifty years and together had five daughters and one son, Frances Pat, Kathleen Byrnes, Eileen Kelly, Carol Christopher, John Patrick, and Mary Ganss, along with their spouses and children, loved her many stories of her Irish immigrant parents and five siblings,
Grandma Franny always had a good story even in her most recent years.
Her thirteen grandchildren loved her and her fourteen great grandchildren will continue to hear her special stories in the many years to come.
Family and friends may visit Fairchild Sons Funeral Home on Franklin Avenue in Garden City on Sunday, June 13th from 2-4 and 7-9. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on Monday, June 14th at 10 AM followed by her Burial at Calvary Cemetery with her loving husband John who predeceased her in 1999 and their infant son, John Patrick who died in 1958. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her for the very caring, funny, supportive, woman she was who loved her Church, Family, and Friends her entire life.
