Ellen was a bright, funny and vibrant lady. It was our pleasure to have known her. She will rest in the peace she well deserves.

After knowing her for so many years, today I say goodbye to my good lady, honoring the greatness of her soul.
She was an extraordinarily humane and empathetic woman, blessed with a unique charisma that could brighten anyone's day.
Her noble heart and pleasant personality are the most beautiful legacy she leave behind.

I am sorry to hear the news about Ellen’s passing. She was a dear friend of my mom, Joan, as well as The Whiting family. We celebrated many Holidays with her in Garden City at my mom’s house and Cherry Valley Country Club where she was a member. Ellen was very involved with St. Joseph’s Church in Garden City. She was a wonderful conversationalist, and extremely well read. Many decades ago, when I worked for Hearst’s iconic publication Good Housekeeping in New York City, I would often stop by her office (I was in sales and she was on the editorial team). Ellen was an avid reader and always fun to be around. May she rest in peace.
