Obituary

Loretta L. Rivoli (nee Faragasso), 91 was called home to heaven on April 1, 2026. Loretta was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 8th, 1935 to Gertrude and Frank Faragasso. She spent her early years growing up in Brooklyn, and after graduating high school, went to work as a secretary at Brooklyn Union Gas Co. It was there that she met the love of her life, Louis J. Rivoli, a co-worker. They married in August of 1956 and settled in Hempstead, Long Island where they raised their two children Denise and Louis Rivoli, Jr. They moved to Garden City, Long Island in 1975 when their children were grown. Loretta and Lou enjoyed their years in Garden City by joining in on events in town, and by becoming parishoners at Saint Joseph's Church. Loretta went to work as a secretary at Garden City High School and loved every minute of it! She got to know all the faculty and students. Loretta worked with so many wonderful people who became lifelong friends. Loretta and Lou also had wonderful neighbors, whom they loved very much. Loretta's biggest joy in life was her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly enjoyed taking care of everyone unselfishly. She enjoyed daily walks, cooking, cleaning and decorating for every holiday. She loved making Easter baskets for her grandchildren, trick or treat bags for every trick or treater, and wrapping Christmas gifts that would fill the entire room. She loved to give. She will be remembered for all of this and more. She fought hard and was stronger than most, but she got tired and is now at peace. She was the heart of our family, and will be loved and missed for eternity.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude (nee Sorrentino) and Frank Faragasso, her brothers David, Robert and Frank, Jr. She is survived by her husband Louis J. Rivoli, her children Denise Rivoli-Acerra (Salvatore), Louis Rivoli, Jr. (Lisa), her grandchildren Louis J. Rivoli, III (Danielle), James and Christopher (Jayne), her great grandchildren Meadow and Sage, as well as her brother Jack Faragasso.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00pm on Monday, April 6th at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1201 Franklin Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530.
