Dear Elisa and Family:
Elaine and I were so saddened to hear of Ken's passing and our hearts go out to you all. I have so many fond memories of Ken. Here are a few of them.

Ken and I were really close friends at work....The first day he came to our section at the Executive Offices of HRA of NYC....250 Church St...(the Case Consultation Section)...I immediately knew he would be a good friend and co-worker. When an overtime project started, he was in a different room doing different projects...and I asked him if he would be interested in joining our special overtime project..He thought about it and decided to join me and several others on the project. A desk became available in front of me when my mentor Betty Bank retired....and Ken moved there...We put in many hours of overtime together and became very close friends.

Many times we would do lunch together in the area and then take long walks down to the World Trade Center and Battery Park....On the day the WTC was bombed the first time in 1993, Ken and I walked down there and met a cousin of Ken's who was an officer in the Fire Dept...and he explained to us what had happened in the building as we saw hundreds of people exiting the building all covered in soot. We never realized that 8 years later on 9/11/01 that there would be a devastating attack on the two buildings by hijacked airplanes which completely destroyed them and the lives of thousands of people.

I recall fondly all the nice people that worked with Ken and I and helped to make our working environment very pleasant...Some of them were Jim Geraghty, Wedley Pluiviose, Betty Bank, Joe Gumina, Susan Piccirillo, Jean Prophete, Ron Goodwin, Carolyn Jones, John Ferguson, Evan Cohen, and our director and good friend.Tony Imbo.....and of course the legendary Burt Blaustein.

Several times during the time we worked there and after retirement, Elisa and Ken...and Jim and Donna....and Elaine and I went out for lunch meets which were really fun. Jim and Donna and Elaine and I..and John Ferguson and his wife also attended the wedding of Elisa and Ken's son which was a wonderful affair and a great rebonding experience.

Elisa and Ken, and Donna and Jim also attended Elaine and I's 50th Anniversary Party in 2016 in Astoria, Queens.

Ken was a one of a kind friend...Wonderful sense of humor and fantastic co-worker. It was a pleasure having such a nice person to work with, share stories of our families, and bounce jokes off each other. Ken was one of the emcees at my retirement party in 1996 and gave a wonderful speech.

He will be sorely missed by all his family and Elaine and I....and all his former co-workers. The old saying is ...if you make one or two good friends in life, you are blessed. I feel blessed that Ken was one of those friends.

Our sincere condolences go out to Elisa and all of Ken's family. Let our memories of Ken sustain us at this time of his loss. I will never forget the smile that Ken always had. Our faith tells us we will all meet again one day in a special place that God has reserved for us. May the Lord's blessings be upon Ken and his family...until we meet again.

Dear Kenny, it was been a honor a loving pleasure to know you and spend time together. Thank you for your always kind and supportive words and thoughts. We hoisted a few together and had a some good laughs and best of all shared some good life.

“May your anchor be strong, your crew be loyal, and your journey be safe. Fair winds, following seas, and a safe harbor await you."

And as you approached heaven’s gates I know you said, “another Sailor reporting for duty Sir, I’ve served my time in hell”. And may Saint Peter have greeted you in the afterlife with open arms, and please you put in a good word for the rest of us.

So sorry to hear of Ken's passing! We served together in the Bronx for many years! May He Rest in Peace! I will always remember his smile and sense of humor and the years we spent at Fort Schuyler!

I could not have asked for a better paga to be so close to. I am so grateful for the memories we were able to make. I am glad I got to say goodbye to you. Until we meet again, paga. I still love you so much.
