Many happy times with Libby playing bridge, happy hours and dinners with friends and Dewar’s. Had dinner with her the night before she left Florida. She so looked forward to a fun drive home with her daughter and all the stops they were going to make along the way.

Mom and I met on August 29, 1976 at LaGuardia Airport.
Yes, 50 years have passed since then.
Meeting with the Huschle family is a miraculous encounter for me.
I feel that God gave me a gift to be a part of the family. The family
    filled with love and laughter.

I was an exchange student at Garden City High School in 1976.
From day one, I called my American parents Mom and Dad.
Awkwardly at the beginning then very naturally.

We had cocktail hours in a backyard conversing over what happened that day, we always ate dinner together and had many parties. I was so proud of passing canapes around to many relatives and guests. We took summer trips together in a packed station wagon. And a heartwarming Christmas. Lining up having Claire in front, we dashed down the staircase to the Christmas tree. Still in pajamas, opening presents, buried in piles of wrapping paper, each one of us had a big smile.

Not only being an only child in Japan having biological parents divorced, I never really knew
what family was like until I came into the Huschle Family. Undivided love, togetherness and peace I experienced that year became my foundation.

Even after marriage, I kept coming back to you for your motherly advice.
I still need your pat on my back. I miss you and your big hug so much.

I do not know how to thank you, Dad and all the family members enough for having me as a part of the family.

Thank you for being you. You are so wonderful!
    Your Japanese daughter, Miki

After reading this wonderful obituary, I wish I knew her better, but I got to know her well enough through a few visits and through Claire to know that she was a joyful, fun human being. She certainly made the world a better place. Heaven just got a little more fun with her arrival.

With a broken heart, She will be Missed so much. I so enjoyed our chats over the years. I will never forgot ...She taught me how to fold a Fitted Sheet....It was life changing and she always asked how my linen closed looked...and with pride I would always say...Absolutely Amazing !!!!! Libby was a wonderful, special woman. I was happy to have known her and worked with her to support children's programs at the Lynbrook Library. She was always so much fun to be around.

I traveled to Croatia and met Libby and her friends in September 2024. She was such a pleasure to get to know. My sympathies to her family and friends on the loss of a wonderful woman.

It was sweet to read about your mom Pat. You shared so many stories and these words add another layer of knowing her. She seems delightful. I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family. Warm hugs.
