Beloved daughter of the late Donald C. and Florence L. Emery (nee Lynch) and adored granddaughter of the late Grover C. and Eleanor R. Emery and Michael and Florence Lynch, Ellen has passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.

Ellen is survived by her maternal first cousins, Michael Lynch, Nancy Duggan, Maureen DiDomenico, Eileen Pfaff, Susan Harding, Kathleen Ingersoll and Timothy Lynch.  Although Ellen did not have any siblings, she enjoyed a genuine sisterly bond with her dear and cherished friends, Margaret DeMeo, Brenda Wydler, Joan Whiting, Janet Castles, Carolyn Thoet, Dr. Marilyn O’Grady and Elizabeth Wydler Golden. Ellen was also the proud godmother to her close friends’ children, Michelle DeMeo and Daniel Augustine Golden. Ellen is especially grateful to her friends and caregivers, Sandra Patrick, Melissa Patrick and Shirley Kaye, all of whom she loved and appreciated greatly.

Ellen was an alumna of Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, Maryland, and pursued a career in publishing in Manhattan.  Ellen was a devout Catholic and long time parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, and also served her parish family as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Throughout her life, Ellen was an avid reader, a thoughtful listener and an intellectual.  She could discuss and debate any topic knowledgeably and, most often, correctly!  Ellen spent countless enjoyable and memorable times with her many friends in Garden City and Cutchogue.  Ellen was a long time member of the Cherry Valley Club and North Fork Country Club, where she golfed and socialized regularly.  Ellen was grateful to God and to all of her cousins and friends for providing her with a meaningful and wonderful life.

We take comfort in knowing that she has returned home to her Father in Heaven.  May the Lord grant her eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon her.
