Michele Ann White (née Steiger), 67, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Point Lookout, New York.

Born on June 21, 1958, in Queens, New York, Michele was known from an early age for her warmth, compassion, and generous heart. She possessed a quiet strength and an enduring joy that shaped the way she loved those around her throughout her life.

As a young mother, Michele devoted herself fully to her children, guided by an unwavering commitment to care, stability, and love. She approached motherhood not with pretense, but with devotion — always determined that her children would feel supported, protected, and deeply loved.

Michele was a devoted wife to her husband, Peter C. White, and a loving mother to her children, Dana Brosnan and Kris White. She was a proud and joyful grandmother to seven grandchildren, in age order: Rowan White, Katelyn Brosnan, Emma Brosnan, Rylan White, Sloane White, Talia White, and Asher White. Her grandchildren knew her as a source of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

Later in life, Michele found deep peace and contentment in the life she had built — in her loving marriage, in the joy of her grandchildren, and in the creation of her farm in Walton, New York. The farm was not only a place of beauty and refuge, but a reflection of her values: care for others, connection to the land, and generosity of spirit. It was her hope that it would be used to bring rest, healing, and support to people in need.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; her children, Dana and Kris; her seven grandchildren; and her sister, Merri Hausken. She was predeceased by her father, George Steiger; her mother, Norma Steiger; and her brother, George Steiger Jr.

Michele was admired for her empathy, kindness, and steady presence. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected through her actions — through patience, generosity, forgiveness, and love. She had a rare ability to make others feel at ease and cared for, often without saying very much at all.

A wake will be held on Monday and Tuesday, January 19–20, 2026, from 6:00–8:30p.m. both evenings at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Point Lookout Community Church.

Michele will be lovingly remembered for the beauty, joy, and love she shared — and for the life of care and purpose she cultivated for others.
