- March 18, 2026I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Gargiulo a few months ago at Brookdale Hospital, where I was the attending nurse for a couple of his patients in ICU. Dr. Gargiulo embodied compassion and patience, taking the time to personally connect with each patient, addressing their concerns and fostering a sense of comfort. The last time I saw and spoke with Dr. Gargiulo was on Friday morning morning March 13th, during his routine rounds, where he continued to inspire with his kindness. The news of his departure has had a profound impact on me. Dr. Gargiulo was an exemplary individual, whose kindness, patience, and warm smile will be deeply missed, yet his legacy will continue to inspire us all. Sleep In Peace Dr. Gargiulo.Pascale Almonte

- March 18, 2026Dr. G was one of the easiest people to talk to—warm, approachable, and genuinely present in every interaction. No matter how busy his schedule was, he always made time to say “hi,” “hello,” or share a quick moment of kindness with every member of the staff.
He carried himself with a friendliness that made our workplace feel lighter, brighter, and more human. His spirit was gentle, his heart sincere, and his presence unforgettable.
Such a wonderful soul… one who touched many lives simply by being himself.
Dr. G, you will be deeply missed, but your warmth and kindness will continue to live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you.Kenson McQueen

- March 27, 2026Dr. Gargulio’s death came as such a shock. I could not believe what I was hearing, yet seeing him at peace, with his eyes closed, brought a sense of comfort.
I have known Dr. Gargulio since 2017. I was very new to the sales industry and still learning how to work, how to carry myself, and how to navigate that world. I remember my first OR case as a vendor and feeling so nervous, unsure of what would be expected of me. Thankfully, it was with Dr. Gargulio.
He had a way of making people feel comfortable and making even a stressful environment feel easy. Being around him felt like being at the home of a beloved family member, just talking while he worked. He was incredibly inclusive and made sure everyone felt part of the conversation and at home. He may have been a surgeon, but he never carried the ego of one.
He was one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting, and I thank God that I did.
He loved nostalgia and would often talk about his time at Colgate, at Northwell, and at Upstate, where he met his wife, Marina. He would also speak about his life at Brookdale Hospital and loved proudly showing photos of his young boys. He had such a deep empathy for the residents and would say, “Mira, I just want them to enjoy life a bit and not feel caged here. Life should be enjoyed.”
And yet, he worked countless hours serving the underserved community in Brooklyn. I still remember him saying, “Brooklyn is the largest borough.” I actually learned that from him.
He was truly an angel in human form who has now returned to being an angel. I am so grateful that our paths crossed. Until next time.
My deepest condolences to all of Dr. Gargulio’s family and children. I had the chance to meet his daughter Olivia, and his sons Rafael and Gabriel, all of whom share Dr. Gargulio’s beautiful smile and laughter. It brings me comfort to know that his smile and laugh will live on through them and continue to be seen and felt by so many.Mira Rao - March 25, 2026What a tragic loss. - March 23, 2026It is very heartbreaking to learn of the passing of Dr. G. He was my vascular doctor whom I would see at his office at St. Jude's on Flatlands Avenue or at Brookdale Hospital. Dr. "G", as I affectionately called him was a very pleasant, caring kind, patient and compassionate human being. He had a smile and a welcoming demeanor. If I didn't understand certain things, he would take the time to explain the situation to me. I just loved that man. He gave me his cell phone # to call him if I had any changes in my feet. If I called him and he didn't answer right away, he would definitely call me back no matter what. I had an appointment to see him in June. I had been seeing him for a few years, now my favourite vascular doctor is gone to be
with his Lord and Savior. Sleep on Dr. G and get your rest. God knows that your work here on earth finished, so he took you home. Rest in peace, Dr. Gargiulo. May the light of God perpetually shine on you forever. Goodbye
